Dick Bolt

Dick Bolt graduated from the Municipal Conservatory of Groningen in the subjects (bass) trombone and conducting and gained a lot of experience in both areas during his studies.

In 1988 he became the permanent bass trombonist of Het Gelders Orkest (Now: Phion). He was also a member of Ravelli Brass and still plays in the Dutch Trombone Quartet and has substituted with all professional symphony orchestras in our country. Last season he played with the Noord Nederlands Orkest, the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra and the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra.

In addition to his job as a bass trombonist, Dick is conductor of the OBK harmony orchestra in Bennekom and of the Flos Campi symphony orchestra in Nijmegen. And he is a principal subject teacher at his own former school, the Prince Claus Conservatory in Groningen.

He was conductor of Brassband Gelderland for a short time and during his studies he was successful as conductor of the Provincial Brass Band Groningen, with which he won the then top KNFM competition.

He is honorary conductor of fanfare St. Cecilia in Millingen aan de Rijn, with which he was associated for 33 years. He can also be found regularly behind the jury table in all regions of our country in the world of brass music.
