Networking Event 2026 - What Does the Future Sound Like?

Prince Claus Conservatory of Music

Sign up for the networking event/symposium: What Does the Future Hold?

Not only is it an interesting symposium, but it will also mark the 60th anniversary of the Prince Claus Conservatory (PCC).

That afternoon will feature workshops, lectures, roundtable discussions, and performances that explore developments in music education and its role and significance in our society. Together, we will reflect on the current state of music education and look 60 years into the future. We warmly invite you to join the conversation about this shared future.

This afternoon, we’ll be exploring the role of the conservatory in talent development and the importance of music education in conflict zones. We’ll also be discussing AI and filter bubbles, making music in prisons and healthcare settings, and the current state of the Dutch jazz scene. The themes of the two participating research groups are Music in Context (Lifelong Learning in Music) and Arts Education.

What does "Toekomstmuziek" sound like? features a wide-ranging program with contributions from the Knowledge Center for Art and Society (Art Education and Music in Context) at Hanze University, faculty researchers from the Prince Claus Conservatory, and external speakers, such as Lucas Dols (Sounds of Change), Janpier Brands (Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences), Albert Westerhoff (Beeldcoalitie) and Loes Rusch (Utrecht University).

The networking event is a collaboration between PCC, K&C, KultuurLoket, Keunstwurk, MGD, and OMF
