Groningen Brass Experience (GBE), in collaboration with the Groningen/Drenthe Music Association (MGD), is launching the OMMELAND CONCERTS initiative. On this day, dedicated to fostering connections with music associations in the region, we seek to create links between the artists involved with GBE and local orchestras. The music associations will have a unique opportunity to host performances featuring brass bands, top soloists/ensembles, and conductors. These Ommeland concerts will feature unique and exciting performances at surprising locations! The organization of the Ommeland concerts is in the hands of the participating orchestras themselves.
In other words
On the final day of the Groningen Brass Experience, music associations in the city and surrounding area will organize a concert. As an orchestra, you can collaborate with a (top) soloist, ensemble, conductor, or (top) band who are guests at the Groningen Brass Experience. There is no cost associated with this collaboration. However, there are a few rules:
The organizing musical society will arrange (at its own expense):
Associations are free to acquire income, for example through grants, sponsorships, entrance fees, etc. From GBE and MGD there is support in, for example, applying for (municipal) subsidies.
Rehearsals with guest artists always take place approximately 60–90 minutes before the concert begins. The selection of a guest artist is made in consultation with GBE.
MAIN OBJECTIVE is the promotion of wind music in the broadest sense of the word: an Experience where the sparks fly (Perhaps the event can be used for recruitment of new students/members).
To register for an Ommeland Concert, please send an email to contact@groningenbrass.com. Once you have registered, the GBE organizers will contact you regarding the upcoming concert.
