Senne La Mela

Senne took his first musical steps as a trumpet player with Pierre Schrijvers and Maurice Vanmechelen at the music academy of Genk.

He obtained his Master of Music degree with great distinction in the class of Manu Mellaerts at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and then studied with Jeroen Berwaerts at the Solo Class of the “Hochschule für Musik” in Hannover.

Senne is a laureate of the competitions “OnlyBrass”, “Aeolus Wettbewerb” and also successfully participated in renowned competitions such as “Prague Spring” in Prague and “ARD Wettbewerb” in Munich. He won a second prize in the 'Mendelssohn Kammermusik Wettbewerb' with the ensemble “Ten for brass”, a first prize as “Stockhausen interprete” with the trio 'SCHÖNHEIT' and a first prize in the “Yamaha scholarship foundation competition”.

Since 2014, Senne has been a solo trumpet player at the 'Opéra Royal de Wallonie' in Liège and has been a trumpet teacher at the 'Lemmensinstituut' campus of the “LUCA School of Arts” in Leuven since 2022. He is an 'International Yamaha artist' and is a proud ambassador of this brand.
