Senne La Mela

Senne took his first steps in music as a trumpet player under Pierre Schrijvers and Maurice Vanmechelen at the Genk Music Academy.

He earned his Master’s degree in music with high honors in Manu Mellaerts’ class at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and subsequently studied with Jeroen Berwaerts in the soloist class at the Hochschule für Musik in Hanover.

Senne is a prize winner of the “OnlyBrass” and “Aeolus Wettbewerb” competitions and has also successfully participated in renowned competitions such as “Prague Spring” in Prague and the “ARD Wettbewerb” in Munich. He won second prize in the “Mendelssohn Chamber Music Competition” with the ensemble “Ten for Brass,” first prize as a “Stockhausen interpreter” with the trio “SCHÖNHEIT,” and first prize in the “Yamaha Scholarship Foundation Competition.”

Since 2014, Senne has been the principal trumpet player at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie in Liège, and since 2022, he has been teaching trumpet at the Lemmens Institute campus of the LUCA School of Arts in Leuven. He is an International Yamaha Artist and a proud ambassador for the brand.
